Going Farther, Faster, By Faith: Creating Communities of Hope Through Vaccine Equity

Faith leaders can play an important role in helping communities understand vaccine safety and the balance of science and faith.

Going Farther, Faster, By Faith, & Alive & In Color will bring together representatives from Fulton County Government, medical experts, and leaders from Fulton County’s Black Faith-Based Communities to share solutions for addressing vaccine hesitancy.

Science indicates that once the majority of the population is vaccinated, we will be on the “path to normality” and contain the deadly spread of the Coronavirus. With approximately a third of Georgians fully vaccinated, the state has begun the “great re-opening.” But as of early May, only 55% of Black Americans had been vaccinated or wanted to get vaccinated. Getting another 15 – 20+% of the population vaccinated will take community-based approaches including nuanced messaging and educational outreach from trusted community leaders.

Panel Topics Include:
– Closing The COVID Gap in Fulton County
– How Fear & Faith Block the Path to Recovery
– Strategies & Tactics for Overcoming Vaccine Hesitancy
– The Role of Faith-Based Leadership in “Stopping The Spread”
